7:00 p.m.: Country music awards show or not, starting out with Lenny Kravitz is never, ever a bad thing in my opinion. The CMT Music Awards are opening with a rock ‘n’ roll collaboration between Kravitz and tonight’s co-host, country music superstar Jason Aldean, on the Canadian band the Guess Who’s classic hit “American Woman.” Kravitz initially covered this song back in ’99, and even if they don’t seem to have all the kinks worked out up there, he and Aldean seem to be having fun.

7:00 p.m.: As promised, our co-hosts – Oklahoma superstar Blake Shelton and first-time ACM Awards co-host Luke Bryan are getting the show off to a musical start, performing Blake’s raucous, hip-hop-infused new single “Boys ‘Round Here.” Rocker Sheryl Crow, looking sassy in a short gold dress, are now joining them, and now here come Blake’s wife Miranda Lambert and Pistol Annie looking flat-out sexy to back him up.

6:00 p.m.: The official Oscars Red Carpet Pre-show is commencing, and Broken Arrow native Kristin Chenoweth looks lovely as she opens the proceedings. I love the idea of decorating the red carpet with sketches of iconic Hollywood dress designs.

6:01: Kristin and Kelly Rowland both look glamorous in black and white, while co-host and “Good Morning America” anchor Lara Spencer is decked out in a sparkling off-white off-the-shoulder gown.

It’s almost time for the 85th Annual Academy Awards, and I’m gearing up for my annual Oscars live blog tonight here at BAM’s Blog!

The live blogging will begin at 6 p.m. with the Oscars Red Carpet Live official pre-show, hosted by Broken Arrow native Kristin Chenoweth, Entertainment Weekly Managing Editor Jess Cagle and “Good Morning America” anchors Lara Spencer and Robin Roberts.

7:00 p.m.: That’s a crazy lineup of performers. But all I heard was Prince is here!!!

7:01: Here we go. The 55th Annual Grammy Awards are starting with a performance that CBS has been promoting like crazy: Taylor Swift’s return to the Grammy stage with tonight’s opening performance.

7 p.m.: Checotah native and two-time ACM Entertainer of the Year winner Carrie Underwood is kicking off the show in flashy Vegas fashion, strutting her stuff in a short hot pink fringed number, singing into a fancy walking stick-inspired mic and belting her latest hit, “Good Girl.” She’s got her band all decked out in matching white outfits and got all kinds of geometric patterns and ladies’ silhouettes in white and pink flashing behind her.

It’s almost here!

The 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas from 7 to 10 tonight on CBS.

Oklahoma-born and bred superstars Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire will co-host the show for the second straight year.
