Tornado benefit performances continue Tickets are on sale Friday (today) for the July 23 Rock for Oklahoma fundraiser that will feature Kings of Leon, The Flaming Lips, Jackson Browne, Built to Spill and special guests at Chesapeake Energy Arena, 100 W Reno.

The concert also will feature Jackson Browne, Built to Spill and special guests, according to a news release.

He even tweeted out this morning a picture of today’s sobering cover of The Oklahoman, which unfortunately features another horrifying photo of a tornado.

Oklahoma City-based psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips are pre-selling fan-designed T-shirts to raise money for Moore tornado relief.

Oklahoma City-based psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips will be the musical guests performing tonight on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.”

Fallon’s show airs at 11:35 p.m. weekdays on NBC. Julie Bowen and Demi Lovato also will be guests on tonight’s episode.

Oklahoma City-based psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips have released a very NSFW video for the song “You Lust,” from their 2013 album “The Terror.”

There’s lots of writhing, lots of wires and lots of nudity involved, plus a weird pink toad and a roving monkey.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Oklahoma City-based experimental rockers The Flaming Lips, which formed in 1983.

The band has been staying busy, recently releasing their new album “The Terror,” a special Record Store Day remastered vinyl of their 1997 experimental opus “Zaireeka” and various music videos, as well as playing shows.

A limited quantity of The Flaming Lips’ Record Store Day 2013 release is available now on the band’s online store.

This year for RSD, the Oklahoma City-based psychedelic rockers released a special vinyl edition of their experimental 1997 album “Zaireeka.” The box set includes four discs, designed to be played on cue and simultaneously, producing nothing short of a symphonic experience.

Is there anything better than two psychedelic Oklahoma City bands swapping songs in a flurry of creativity?

Not really.

Veteran rockers The Flaming Lips and young act Horse Thief happen to be on the same label, Bella Union, in the U.K., and their latest albums – The Lips’ 13th studio effort “The Terror” and Horse Thief’s debut EP “Grow Deep, Grow Wild,” – happened to drop across the pond on the same day, which happened to be April 1.
