DUNCAN — Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Wanda Jackson will receive the “Blazing the Trail Award” this weekend at the seventh annual Trail Dance Film Festival.

The Queen of Rockabilly will receive the award during the 2013 Golden Drover Awards Show at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Simmons Center, 800 Chisholm Parkway. The awards show is free to the public.

Jackson, a Maud native and longtime Oklahoma City resident, will be honored for her musical contributions to the soundtracks of dozens of film and television projects.

She also will perform during the Trail Dance Film Festival closing night feature comedy, “The Queens of Country,” prior to the awards show. Jackson appears as herself in the film.

The festival will include 90 independent films screening Friday and Saturday at the Simmons Center and Chisholm Trail Heritage Center, 1000 Chisholm Trail Parkway. Times and ticket prices vary.
