Wednesday was a huge day for fans of “The Hunger Games” film franchise, with the first movie earning five trophies to become the top victor at the People’s Choice Awards.

“Hunger Games” was named favorite movie, action movie and movie franchise, and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth had fans’ favorite on-screen chemistry. Lawrence, who earned her second Oscar nomination today for her turn in “Silver Linings Playbook,” also won favorite movie actress and “face of heroism.”

As previously reported, Entertainment also released Wednesday a few new images from “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” the upcoming second film based on Suzanne Collins’ best-selling series, including the first-look photo of Sam Claflin (“Snow White and the Huntsman”) as fan-favorite character Finnick Odair.

“Catching Fire” is due in theaters Nov. 22, which means the sequel will probably be a People’s Choice favorite next year, too.

Interestingly, recently canceled caper series “Leverage” – starring Norman-bred actor/musician Christian Kane, Academy Award winner Timothy Hutton, Gina Bellman, Beth Riesgraf and Aldis Hodge – nabbed the prize for best cable TV drama.

As previously reported, Executive Producer Dean Devlin announced last month that TNT was canceling the entertaining series after five seasons. The finale aired on Christmas.

“You guys made this happen. We won The People’s Choice award. Thank you!!!! Best fans in the world. U believe me now??? Thank you so much!!!!” Kane wrote on Twitter (@ChristianKane01) after the show. “You!!! did this. Remember that. Thank you. I owe you guys so much!”
