Wednesday Video Spotlight: Adley Stump covers Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”

Tulsa native Adley Stump, a country singer-songwriter best known as a contender on Season 2 of “The Voice,” recently released a lovely version of Leonard Cohen’s oft-covered ballad “Hallelujah.”

There have been countless renditions of “Hallelujah” done over the years; in fact, “The Voice” Season 3 cast and competitors recently performed the song as a tribute to Newtown, Conn. But I particularly like how Adley’s deep croon complements Cohen’s epically sad song.

The Oklahoma State University grad’s version of “Hallelujah” is available for download from iTunes and Amazon. Adley talks about the challenges of covering the Cohen song in this video:
