Justin Bieber plans July 2 Oklahoma City tour date; tickets on sale Dec. 21

Oklahoma City will get another case of Bieber Fever when pop superstar Justin Bieber plays a July 2 show at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Due to overwhelming demand, Bieber’s sold-out “Believe World Tour” will be extended into 2013 with 30 additional shows, including the OKC date. Tickets for the Oklahoma City show will go on sale Dec. 21, according to a news release.
The “Believe” Tour, presented by Motorola and produced by AEG Live, is supporting his platinum-certified 2012 album of the same name. The tour will start up again on June 22 in San Diego, Calif., at the Valley View Casino Center and will blaze a trail through the newly added cities before wrapping up in Atlanta on Aug. 10 at the Philips Arena.
A number of VIP packages will also be offered on the upcoming tour. In addition to great seats, VIP packages can include meet and greets and photo opportunities with Bieber, autographed memorabilia, exclusive VIP merchandise and much more. Additionally, $1 from each ticket will be donated to Pencils of Promise, a charity which works to build schools and increase educational opportunities in the developing world. Bieber, 18, last played Oklahoma City in November 2010.
With worldwide album sales in excess of 15 million units, the singer-songwriter has dominated pop culture and social media for more than two years. He has more than 48 million Facebook fans, more than 31 million Twitter followers, and more than 3.1 billion YouTube views. He is the most popular YouTube artist of all time, and received the 2012 Billboard Music Award for Social Artist of the Year.
