As previously reported, country music superstar and Oklahoma transplant Miranda Lambert will officially open a store called the Pink Pistol in her adopted hometown of Tishomingo on Friday, Nov. 23.
Lambert and her husband, fellow country music superstar and TV personality Blake Shelton, live on a farm outside the south central Oklahoma community.
“We’re having the Grand Opening the day after Thanksgiving, on Black Friday, only we’re calling it Pink Friday,” Miranda tells The Boot. “We’re going to make it a tradition to turn the block pink every year at that time.
Today, Lambert directed her Facebook fans to the new Pink Pistol Facebook page so they could get information about the inaugural Pink Pistol Princess Pageant planned for the shop’s opening day:
The 1st Annual Pink Pistol Princess Pageant will be held on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Miranda Lambert along with her staff at The Pink Pistol have declared this day Pink Friday, celebrating the grand opening of The Pink Pistol in Tishomingo Oklahoma. This family friendly pageant is not extremely formal but all costumes are welcome. Contestants will be judged on the creativity of their awesomely PINK costumes, their spunkiness and their sass! Our goal is to turn the town of Tishomingo pink for one whole night, so remember the pinker the costume the more you’ll stand out! We are accepting 20 contestants in the following age groups: 4-8,9-13 and 14-18. Due to the high volume of lovers of pink, entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis.

The singer-songwriter tells The Boot the store will carry a variety of merchandise.
“It’s antiques, gifts, boots, jeans and pretty much everything you can imagine. My favorite thing in the store is a glittery pink bicycle hanging from the ceiling. I’m really 12 at heart,” she adds with a laugh.
The store joins other shops in the town with such whimsical names as the Lucky Rose, the Rose Petal and Whatever Is Lovely.
Miranda recently finished her 2012 tour and will be featured on Blake’s Christmas special, “Not So Family Christmas,” set to air Dec. 3 on NBC.
The three-time Country Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year also is vying for Favorite Female Vocalist, Country, at the American Music Awards, which will air Sunday on ABC.
As previously reported, Lambert also is planning a 2013 co-headlining tour with fellow country superstar Dierks Bentley that will include Oklahoma City and Tulsa shows. The “Locked & Reloaded Tour” will stop March 8 at Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena, 100 W Reno. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Chesapeake Energy Arena box office, online at LiveNation.com or by phone at (800) 745-3000. Ticket prices are $52.75 and $28 for the Oklahoma City concert.
The particulars for the Tulsa show have not yet been announced.
“I love projects,” Lambert explains to The Boot. “I love anything that stimulates my creativity.”
