PS I just paid some attention -- used to live in OKC and wnet to OCU with its amazing turnout of major soprano divas -- back when, Susan Powell, and these days Kristen C.
great review -- probably the first BS album (and I bought it on vinyl - yea( that I won't just upt on the shelf. Totally agree with the Lost in W and Mother and Child thoughts but there's so much more -- BS with Randy Newman (before he became RANDY NEWMAN) on the piano where (yes I am actually talking about Streisand) and BS sings I Think it's Gonna Rain Today with such simplicity and no unnecessary theatrics (the material is so good nothing more was needed). THe gorgeous Rupert Holmes "Glocca Morra/Heather" medley (the Holmes sessions were oddly wrongly jettisoned, but we're bound to hear more from the announced Release Me, Vol. 2 (Holmes' MOONFALL from Drood, Make Our Garden Grow from Candide). And then the album ends with HOJME from The Wiz -- Barbra in full throttle (and personally I think much better than the Foster produced Somewhere which took the slot of HOME on the Blbum.

Getthe vinyl while you can (the only growth in the music indstry right now is in vinylo (plus you get the whole 12 x 12{ cover with back liner notes and extensive liner notes on the LP sleever holder plus another 2 page insert covering the Side 2 songs.
