Country music superstar and Oklahoma transplant Miranda Lambert will officially open a store called the Pink Pistol in her adopted hometown of Tishomingo on Friday, Nov. 23, according to The Boot.
Lambert and her husband, fellow country music superstar and TV personality Blake Shelton, live on a farm outside the south central Oklahoma community.
“We’re having the Grand Opening the day after Thanksgiving, on Black Friday, only we’re calling it Pink Friday,” Miranda tells The Boot. “We’re going to make it a tradition to turn the block pink every year at that time.
The singer-songwriter says the store will carry a variety of merchandise.
“It’s antiques, gifts, boots, jeans and pretty much everything you can imagine. My favorite thing in the store is a glittery pink bicycle hanging from the ceiling. I’m really 12 at heart,” she adds with a laugh.
The store joins other shops in the town with such whimsical names as the Lucky Rose, the Rose Petal and Whatever Is Lovely.
Miranda recently finished her 2012 tour and will be featured on Blake’s Christmas special, “Not So Family Christmas,” set to air Dec. 3 on NBC.
Later this month, the three-time Country Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year also is vying for Favorite Female Vocalist, Country, at the American Music Awards, which will air Nov. 18 on ABC.
And she’s already thinking ahead to her 2013 “Locked & Reloaded” tour with Dierks Bentley, which kicks off Jan. 17. As previously reported, the co-headlining tour will include Oklahoma City and Tulsa shows, although the date has not yet been revealed.
“I love projects,” Lambert explains. “I love anything that stimulates my creativity.”
The logo for the Pink Pistol is a pistol with wings. The catchphrase underneath reads: “For the Wild at Heart.” The store is located at 214 W Main Street in Tishomingo.
