Wayne Coyne, frontman of Oklahoma City-based psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips, was featured today on “WTF Wednesday,” a video series on the MTV O Music Awards blog.

In today’s video, Coyne extols the virtues of Twitter. He tweets @waynecoyne, where he has 94,730 followers.

Coyne and the Lips announced this week that will be joining the O Music Awards III and setting out on a 24-hour, cross-country road trip during which they’ll attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Most Live Shows in 24 Hours (multiple cities).

This summer, the O Music Awards III will be taking off across the country in a fully tricked-out bus for a 24-hour, livestreamed adventure through the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll: It will be the world’s first 24-hour livestreamed awards show, according to the blog. Organizers have enlisted the aid of The Lips to complete this endeavor. The band will be overseeing the festivities, as well as breaking a world record currently held by Jay-Z.

The action kicks off in Memphis, Tenn., and doesn’t stop until they reach New Orleans, La., 24 hours later. They’ll be stopping in eight cities total, where the band will play for fans and locals alike, as well as collaborate with myriad acts.

Organizers will be revealing the rest of the lineup in the coming weeks, and don’t forget to vote for your favorite band/app/whatever at OMusicAwards.com.
