The ACM didn’t do it for me this year. Too much glitter and glitz. Last two years were incredible so you I am a true believer, but going over the top with stage theatrics are shades of theme in George Strait’s Pure Country. Too much smoke and mirrors. How about an acoustic set? Did that with Surgarland last year, wow! How about a ballad or two instead of kick-ass rock that sounds like the back up bands are from Deep Purple. We want to be entertained, but if you watch what gets standing ovations, even the crowd there tells you the glitter and glitz is not what they like. TV audiences are the same…and like it or not….the TV audience pays the bills. I give this year’s awards a C+. If next year’s starts off like this year’s, I will change the channels.
