Comedic actress Lily Tomlin has been tapped to co-star in the Oklahoma superstar Reba McEntire’s new comedy pilot for ABC, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Singer/actress McEntire will star as a woman who divorces her rock star husband after he cheats on her and burns through most of their money who moves her mother and three kids from Nashville to the only asset they have left — a small house in Malibu.

Tomlin will play McEntire’s mother in the project, which will see the central character attempt to revive her own singing career and keep her children from being corrupted by the Malibu lifestyle.

“Lily Tomlin has agreed to join me in “Malibu Country” . The new ABC Comedy Pilot we’ll be shooting in April! Can’t wait! I’m such a huge fan of Lily’s!!! Whoohoooo!!!” Reba commented on Facebook.

According to the trade publication, the stint on “Malibu Country” marks Tomlin’s latest TV gig following her stint on Showtime’s Lisa Kudrow comedy “Web Therapy” and FX/DirecTV’s “Damages.” Her TV credits also include stints on ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” NBC’s “The West Wing” and “Will & Grace.”

From ABC Studios, Kevin Abbott, who was executive producer of McEntire’s previous sitcom “Reba,” will pen the pilot with McEntire, Mindy Schultheis, Michael Hanel, Pam Williams, Dave Stewart (best known as part of British synth-pop duo The Eurythmics) and McEntire’s husband/manager Narvel Blackstock executive producing. John Pasquin will direct the multicamera project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
