Watch: The first 12 minutes of the upcoming film “Sound of My Voice”

Fox Searchlight has made unveiled the intriguingly creepy first 12 minutes, or first chapter, of the upcoming psychological thriller “Sound of My Voice.” The film was a selection at last year’s Sundance and South by Southwest film festivals.

The clip has several interactive hotspots where you can link to YouTube videos, Wikipedia pages and other online content that given tantalizing hints about the story beyond the first chapter.

In the movie, Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius), a couple and documentary filmmaking team, infiltrate a mysterious group led by an enigmatic young woman named Maggie (Brit Marling). Intent on exposing her as a charlatan and freeing the followers from her grip, Peter and Lorna start to question their objective and each other as they unravel the secrets of Maggie’s underworld.

Marling co-wrote the film with director Zal Batmanglij. She also co-wrote and starred in another 2011 Sundance favorite, “Another Earth.”

“Sound of My Voice” opens in theaters April 27.
