It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Blake Shelton’s father, Dick Shelton. Mr. Shelton, who was in declining health this past year, was surrounded by loved ones in Oklahoma upon his passing this evening.
Due to his father’s passing, Shelton is rescheduling four dates on his “Well Lit & Amplified Tour.” To read about the rescheduled dates, click here.
“I appreciate your understanding during this difficult time and thank you for all your prayers. Your support means the world to me. I love you guys,” Shelton said in a statement on his site.
Shelton will sing “America the Beautiful” with his wife Miranda Lambert before the Super Bowl on Feb. 5, while the second season of the hit reality TV show “The Voice,” which features Shelton as a celebrity coach, will air after the big game. The “Honey Bee” singer also is contending for three Grammys next month.

i know how you feel i just lost my teenage son 19 years old last year. he had special needs. now your father is peacefullly resting no pain.he will be each one of yours guardian angel. and watching over his family. he will always be in each of your hearts.
So sorry for your loss Blake, My thoughts and prayers go out to you and and your family. You got to Cherish the good times and remember your song ‘God gave me you’ That song is one of my favorites sung by you. I wish there was something I coud do or say to ease your pain. But if it helps remember that your father is resting peacefully in Jesus’ arms and is in no pain. God Bless you and your family Blake. From your biggest fans.
