Video: Charlie Wilson to perform with Boyz II Men tonight on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Tulsa-bred four-time Grammy-nominated singer Charlie Wilson will perform with R&B vocal group Boyz II Men tonight on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The late-night show begins at 11 p.m. on ABC (KOCO-5 in Oklahoma City).
As reported here previously, Wilson, former frontman of the Gap Band, is featured on Boyz II Men’s latest single, “More Than You’ll Ever Know.” He also appears in the video, posted above.
It will be featured on Boyz II Men’s upcoming album “Twenty,” a celebration of their two decades in the business that features both new songs and reworkings of their hits.
Known for their four-part harmonies, Boyz II Men became the most commercially successful R&B group of all time in the 1990s. On “Twenty,” the quartet will have become a trio, having bid farewell to original member Michael McCary.
Over the years, Wilson has collaborated with many fellow artists, including Common, Snoop Dogg and Kanye West.
In addition, the Tulsa native is nominated for two 2012 Grammys, including best R&B performance for his hit “You Are,” from his 2010 solo album “Just Charlie.” In addition, Wilson, his wife Mahin Wilson and their fellow songwriters Dennis Bettis, Carl M. Days Jr. and Wirlie Morris share a nomination for best R&B song for “You Are.”
The 54th Annual Grammy Awards air live from Los Angeles on Feb. 12 on CBS.
