13 Days of Oklahoma Music: Reba McEntire becomes Country Music Hall of Famer

My “13 Days of Oklahoma Music,” a video series looking back at musical milestones reached by recording artists with state ties, continues today with a multi-talented performer so famous she is on a first-name basis with the world.

Superstar entertainer Reba McEntire, who hails from Chockie, realized a lifelong dream this spring when she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

In addition, Reba joined fellow Oklahoma native on his hit reality TV show “The Voice” and teamed with him to play a pair of benefit concerts for tornado-ravaged Tushka that raised $500,000.

She also brought her new “All the Women I Am Tour” to Tulsa’s BOK Center last month and announced plans to return to television in 2012 in the new ABC sitcom “Malibu Country.”

Emmy-winning actor Edward Asner starred with Reba in the music video to her ballad “Somebody’s Chelsea,” posted above.
