I was majorly bummed when Ragweed broke up….but after hearing this album and seeing them live….its like salt on an open wound. I was waiting for edgar winter to come on stage….the music is something you would hear in a dive bar with a c class band. Cody Canada needs to scroll back thru pictures of the past where he played to sold out crowds. Now the band was lucky if 6 people after the show even wanted autographs. The departed is a black eye on red dirt music. After watching Casey Donahew band and then the Departed…theres no comparison. Its sad to see Cody Canada go down the toliet. Only thing we can pray for is the boys will need some money and put ragweed back together with or without the drummer. Cody looks to be uncomfortable with his new creation as he should be…he is an extremly talanted musician…obviously he is getting bad advise…his show is horrible, the album is horrible…hell even his merchandise is crap. I hate to be one of those bloggers but my friends flew all the way from Nashville to Denver to see the Departed and we both looked at each other as we watched people leave by the droves out the door and we said ….man we should have went to a karaoke bar instead…..My prediction is once Cody is done riding the coat tails of ragweed and the big clubs wont book him and his entourage anymore the Departed will be Departing.
