Vince Gill to play show to mark one-year anniversary of Nashville floods

Oklahoma native and Country Music Hall of Famer Vince Gill, Will Hoge and the Nashville Symphony will perform at Nashville’s one-year anniversary flood commemoration ceremony, reports The Tennessean.
The show will be 11 a.m. Monday on the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge, Nashville Mayor Karl Dean announced.
The event, “Voices Rising: Remembering One Year Later,” will include other community leaders and musical guests, according to The Tennessean.
Attendees will be able to to share their flood stories with the Nashville Public Library for the Nashville Flood Digital History Project. The traveling flood exhibit will also be on display.

Nashville and Middle Tennessee were beset with historic flooding May 1-2, 2010. More than 13 inches of rain was recorded over a two-day period, displacing thousands of residents and damaging or destroying hundreds of businesses.
