Wednesday Video Spotlight: Thompson Square earns CMT Music Award nominations
It’s official: We now have another award-nominated mainstream country music act with Oklahoma ties.
The CMT Music Award nominations were announced today, and naturally, several Oklahoma-connected stars were on the list, including Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton and Toby Keith.
Also on the list: Husband-and-wife duo Thompson Square, which includes Miami, OK, native Keifer Thompson, is nominated for duo video and USA Weekend Breakthrough Video.
Both nominations are for the Keifer and Shawna Thompson’s No. 1 single, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not.” The music video spent 10 consecutive weeks in the Top 5 on the CMT Top 20 Countdown.

The CMT Music Awards will be handed out June 8 in Nashville, Tenn. Online fan voting in all 10 categories is open through June 7 at www.CMT.com.
