Oklahomans Miranda Lambert, Reba and Carrie Underwood, along with Martina McBride, The Judds, Loretta Lynn and Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland will be honored on the TV concert special “Girls’ Night Out: Superstar Women of Country,” airing 8 tonight on the CBS Television Network.

Not only will three of Oklahoma’s superstar ladies – Tishomingo resident Lambert, Checotah native Underwood and Chockie-born and bred Reba – be honored, but several of the state’s high-profile country gentlemen also will perform in honor of the girls during the concert.

Throughout the concert, each presenter will perform a solo and occasionally a duet with their honoree. Duets include former Tulsan Ronnie Dunn with Jennifer Nettles, Rascal Flatts (which includes Picher-bred guitarist Joe Don Rooney of Picher) with Reba, Oklahoma City-bred Vince Gill with Carrie Underwood, as well as special performances by Tishomingo resident Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean. More are to be announced in the coming days.

The special is a tribute concert featuring an A-list lineup of performers paying respect to today’s most popular female artists in country music, all of whom will be honored with unique accolades from the Academy of Country Music for special achievements in their careers.

Brenda lee was missing and without her there the show wasn’t super like it could have been.

IT WAS AN AWESOME SHOW ! I ENJOYED EVERY BIT OF IT !
THE COUNTRY MUSIC SINGERS WERE GREAT !

Carrie Underwood was AMAZING! By far, the most amazing voice in country music!

Great show, very impressed with Carrie doing “How Great Thou Art” took some courage to bring a strong gospel song into a national venue as she did.. and one excellant job by her and Vince.

AWESOME AWESOME Job on How Great Thou Art!!!! Touched my heart!

Wow… Thank you for singing How Great Thou Art. You were a great witness to millions this Easter Weekend. You will be blessed if you continue to honor our Lord through song. Thank you for blessing us tonight. Absolutely beautiful!!!

Carrie Underwood blew me away with” how great thou art”. WOW!!!!

pretty sad I live in Oklahoma and did not get to see Carrie because the weather man stayed on tv talking about(not the weather)a refinery fire which could of been covered on the regular news.

with all the sad events happening in the world today this gave us a great evening of entertainment. Loved it, especially the performance of Carrie and Vince and the song “How Great Thou Art”. The show was wonderful.

What a great show! Every sing was out of this world but Carrie Underwood was the star of the show. She was great I had tears in my eyes I just love her sing. I was not going to miss this show for nothing and I am glad I got to see it. I even put it on my face book. Love the show!!!!!!!!

I want the sound track to Vince and Carrie’s song. Great job by Sarah Evans too.

What a great way to bring in the Easter weekend. Carrie Underwood is a blessing from God. How Great Thou Art with her and Vince was just miraculous!! I am still in awe. I would love the soundtrack of the entire evening. Woo hoo!

A very special and enjoyable show. There probably could have been some other ladies of country added, but that’s open for discussion.

The section format I found very enjoyable, with the choice of presenters, the background movies, singing one of the honorees most successful selections and then closing with a duet. Very cool!!!

I will agree that Carrie and Vince’s duet was very timely, but thought Sara really did the most outstanding vocal job. And being very biased toward SugarLand and The Band Perry (who seemed a little nervous), personally enjoyed their songs, as well as the remaining muscical performances of the stars, male and female alike.

Hummm!!! Probably much better than most Award Shows we’ve seen.

I loved the show. Carrie Underwood was fantastic singing “How great thou Art”. I was wondering why she didn’t have a spot singing when they were doing the Loretta Lynn Tribute. Just curious. Maybe she hurt her voice. All the other ladies had a section of singing “Coal Miners Daughter”???????

I missed the show and I am very upset! I had my dvr set, but it was full. Does anyone know if it will air again, I really want to see it!

THE SHOW WAS GREAT AND CARRIE WAS TOPS WITH “HOW GREAT THOU ART’.TIMING WAS PERFECT WITH EASTER WEEKEND.I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO PURCHASE A COPY.CARRIE SHOULD COME OUT WITH A GOSPEL RECORDING.

GOD BLESS, DC

The show was ” Fantabulous “.

I really loved this show! It was amazing night filled with so much talent! These people really showed what good country music is all about! Hopefully there would be something like this soon! It was so good that they were able to come together.
