Wanda Jackson to perform with Jack White tonight on “Letterman,” Tuesday on “Conan”
Oklahoma City rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson will perform with rocker Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather) tonight on “The Late Show with David Letterman.” The show starts at 10:35 p.m. on CBS.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and White also will be the musical guests Tuesday on “Conan,” which starts at 10 p.m. on TBS.
On Tuesday, Jackson will release her new album “The Party Ain’t Over,” which White produced, on Nonesuch Records and White’s Third Man Records. The Third Man House Band will join Jackson and White for their TV performances, as well as for album release shows tonight and over the weekend in New York and Los Angeles.
Jackson, a Maud native, will perform a free album release show Jan. 28 at the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma’s Performance Lab, 323 E Sheridan in Bricktown.
Green Corn Revival, the Weatherford band whose debut album “Say Your a Sinner” made my list of top albums of 2010, will open for and back Jackson during the Jan. 28 ACM@UCO show.
