Halloween events promise fun, frights

From Shakespearean witches to blood-sucking vampires to enchanted forests, an eerie array of Halloween-theme events are taking place around the state this weekend. For even more events, go to www.wimgo.com.

Hallopolis 5, Norman: Hear live music and enter costume contests at the fifth annual event at 9 p.m. today and Saturday at Opolis, 113 N Crawford. Colourmusic, Lets Be Clear and Low Litas will perform tonight; Jacob Abello, Depth and Current, Student Film and Gentle Ghost are the lineup for Saturday. Magic Lantern Celebration: Celebrate Halloween with light instead of fright at the annual event from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Paseo Arts District, between NW 28 and Walker and NW 30 and Dewey.
