Paltrow Releases Country Song

In conjunction with her upcoming film, Country Strong, in which she plays a country singer,  Gwyneth Paltrow has released a song of the same name as a country single.  Vince Gill and Patty Griffin sing backup on the song, and Tim McGraw co-stars in the film, so there’s plenty of country power surrounding both the song and the film.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Casting

There has been a lot of debate over who should play the two main roles in the American film version of the incredibly popular novel “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” which is in the process of casting right now.  At least one of those roles has now been filled, and it has been filled by none other than the latest James Bond.  Daniel Craig, whose schedule is surely a little lighter now that the next James Bond film is in limbo, has been announced as the male star of the film.  The female lead has yet to be cast and remains the topic of many arguments, I’m sure.

Watch: Pirates of the Caribbean 4 trailer

Ok, so it’s only kind of a trailer.

Regardless, watching Johnny Depp do anything as Jack Sparrow is more entertaining than most things.

The film’s called Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (set for a May 20, 2011 release date), and if this mini-discussion/trailer is any indication, then we may be running into drunken zombies on the next pirates adventure. Sea turtles, mate.

Monday Catchy Quote No. 125

Here’s a catchy quote to brighten up the beginning of your week:

The Dream Lord: If you had any more tawdry quirks, you could open up a tawdry quirk shop! The madcap vehicle, the coo-coo-many hair, the clothes designed by a first year fashion student, I’m surprised that you haven’t got a little purple space dog, just to ram home what an intergalactic wag you are.

Sarah Conner is Chuck’s Mom

For months now, there has been speculation regarding who will be cast as the title character’s mother on NBC’s spy caper “Chuck.”  Several sci fi friendly names have been thrown out, presumably because they needed someone beautiful who can kick butt.  Well, that prescription has certainly been filled with the casting of the original Sarah Conner, Linda Hamilton.  Hamilton will begin her role during Chuck’s season premiere in September.
