ACM Week continues here at BAM’s Blog, and we’re getting close to the big show.
Fashion-conscious superstar Carrie Underwood will wear a Jovani dress at Sunday night’s Academy of Country Music Awards, reports The Oklahoman’s Fashion Editor Linda Miller.
The awards show is taking place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and Linda reports that Underwood picked what sounds like appropriate attire: a short, sequined, purple minidess with dolman sleeves.
Along with competing for six awards, including entertainer of the year, the “American Idol” champ also will perform during the ACM Awards. According to CMT.com, Underwood will perform with fellow country star Brad Paisley (pictured left) and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer John Fogerty
(pictured right) of Creedence Clearwater Revival fame.
This combo has the potential to be one of the most memorable performances of the night.
The 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will air live from Vegas at 7 p.m. Sunday on CBS, with Oklahoma native Reba McEntire hosting for the 12th time. Fans can follow along with my live blog of the show here at BAM’s Blog.
Tishomingo resident Miranda Lambert also is going into the awards ceremony with six nominations. Other artists with Oklahoma ties are nominated for awards, including McEntire, Toby Keith, Blake Shelton, Brooks & Dunn and Rascal Flatts.
Fan voting for entertainer of the year and top new artist continues into Sunday evening at www.VoteACM.com.
