Tishomingo resident Miranda Lambert, “American Idol” contender Jennifer Hudson, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Taylor Swift and Sugarland have been added as performers to “ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn – The Last Rodeo,” an all-star concert special that will be broadcast at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 23 on CBS.

Previously announced performers include Oklahoma natives Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts (which includes Joe Don Rooney of Picher), Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban.

During the tribute concert special, Kix Brooks and former Tulsan Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn, the best-selling duo in the history of country music, will receive the Academy of Country Music’s Milestone Award in recognition of their 20-year, record-breaking career.

They will be honored for holding the record for the most wins of any artist in the academy’s history with 26 awards in total, including three for entertainer of the year. They will also be lauded for a record number of top vocal duo wins —15 awards, eight were awarded consecutively from 2000-07.

Brooks & Dunn have notched 23 No. 1 hits, sold more than 30 million records and won more than 80 major industry awards during their career. In August 2009, they announced that they will retire as a duo in 2010 and embark this summer on a final farewell tour, “The Last Rodeo.”

The tour will stop at Tulsa’s BOK Center on May 28. For more information, go to www.bokcenter.com or www.brooks-dunn.com.

The concert will take place and be taped at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, April 19, the day following the live broadcast of the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

Ticket sales will benefit ACM Lifting Lives, the charitable arm of the Academy of Country Music, which works to improve lives through music.
