Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts making guest appearances on CBS shows this week
A pair of Oklahoma country music stars will be making guest appearances on hit CBS shows this week.
On Monday, Checotah native Carrie Underwood plays a pharmaceutical rep and love interest for lead character Ted (Josh Radnor) on her guest-starring role on the hilarious sitcom “How I Met Your Mother.” But she also gets to play a cavegirl, nurse and flight attendant opposite Ted’s pal Barney Stinson (the awesome Neil Patrick Harris) in a historical montage on the episode.
The show airs at 7 p.m. Monday. The role marks Underwood’s acting debut.

On Thursday, members of the country trio Rascal Flatts, which includes guitarist Joe Don Rooney of Picher, will guest-star as themselves on an episode of the procedural drama “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” The episode, titled “Unshockable,” airs at 8 p.m. Thursday.
The episode has the CSI team investigating an electrical accident during a Las Vegas concert that puts Rascal Flatts bassist Jay DeMarcus in the hospital.
This is not the band’s first foray into television and film. In 2006, Rascal Flatts appeared in an episode of the CBS sitcom “Yes, Dear.” The trio made a cameo in 2009’s “Hannah Montana: The Movie.”
Check out the band’s video to its new hit “Unstoppable,” which features clips from the episode.
