Guests of Science Museum Oklahoma will have the opportunity to visit with Advanced Warning and Control Systems pilots and crew during the museum’s annual AWACS Day Thursday.
“Not only are AWACS an important part of Oklahoma’s rich martial heritage, they also serve as an excellent platform for teaching the science of flight, electronic surveillance and much more.” said Bret Mahoney, academic networking coordinator for the museum, in a news release. “We are honored to host the pilots and crew for this exciting day.”
The pilots and crew from Tinker Air Force Base will be on hand to interact and answer questions in the museum’s aviation wing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday. They also will chat with visitors before and after showings of “Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag” in the museum’s Dome Theater.
Science Museum Oklahoma is at 2100 NE 52 Street. For more information, call 602-3751 or e-mail at anc@sciencemuseumok.org.
