As Bon Jovi prepares to spend much of the next two years on “The Circle Tour,” the Grammy Award-winning rockers have announced that they will offer a free, live Webcast of the first three songs of their North American tour launch tonight at Seattle’s KeyArena.
By logging on to http://ustream.tv/BonJovi, www.BonJovi.com, or www.facebook.com/BonJovi, fans worldwide can tune in and rock out along with the group and their sold-out Seattle audience. The stream will give fans a preview of what to expect as “The Circle Tour” gears up to perform 135 shows in 30 countries throughout 2010-11.
The show and Webcast are set to start at 8:30 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, according to a news release. So that would be 10:30 p.m. Oklahoma time.
Bon Jovi will be bringing “The Circle Tour” to Tulsa’s BOK Center on April 13. For more information, go to www.bokcenter.com.
The free tour launch Webcast is one of many digital online initiatives that Bon Jovi has planned to let fans share the limelight on “The Circle Tour.” The band has also unveiled a unique promotion for their latest single, “Superman Tonight,” in which fans are invited to create their own video for the song by using the suite of tools available at Animoto. Entrants are encouraged to share their videos over social networks, with the most watched weekly winners receiving a Flip Camcorder and the overall contest winner receiving a signed Bon Jovi guitar. Bon Jovi fans can use the free site www.bonjovi.com/supermantonight, which includes iPhone and Facebook apps, to create storylines and montages for “Superman Tonight.” The band’s official video version of the song premiered earlier this month on VEVO.com and VH1.
Bon Jovi is also using Twitter to give their “circle” of fans chances to win prizes. Entrants simply Tweet to be instantly entered for a chance to win at http://twitter.bonjovi.com. The prizes include two tickets to see Bon Jovi live in concert at New Meadowlands Stadium and $1,000 to get there, two $100 gift certificates for bonjovi.com, two $50 gift certificates for bonjovi.com, and four signed copies of the new album.
Additionally, Bon Jovi announced that fans worldwide are invited to upload videos performing the band’s worldwide No. 1 song “Livin’ On A Prayer” to http://prayer.bonjovi.com. The best performances from each city will be chosen to be featured on the touring video system during the show, while the band is on stage playing the song. The official single winners in each market will also receive a deluxe prize package featuring a pair of tickets, an exclusive VIP messenger bag filled with limited edition tour souvenirs and other commemorative items. Recently, Bon Jovi played “Livin’ On A Prayer” – the song voted by fans as the one they most wanted to hear at the Grammy Awards – during their first ever performance on the telecast.
The band’s 11th studio album, “The Circle,” was released in November 2009 and debuted at No. 1 in numerous countries, including the U.S., Canada and Japan. Globally, the legendary band has sold more than 120 million albums, and performed more than 2,600 concerts in more than 50 countries for more than 34 million fans.
