Tim McGraw – along with special guests Lady Antebellum – is kicking off his “Southern Voice” North American tour next week, and Tulsa’s BOK Center is one of the stops on the itinerary.
The Tulsa venue confirmed today that McGraw will play April 8 at the BOK Center. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13.
Ticket prices are set at $35.50, $49.75, $69.75. Tickets will be available online at www.bokcenter.com, at Arby’s Box Office and all Tickets.com outlets, or by phone at (866) 7BOKCTR.
Special guests the Lost Trailers will open the Tulsa show.
McGraw and his band, the Dancehall Doctors, will kick off their tour in support of his new album, “Southern Voice,” Thursday at Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb. Promoted nationally by Live Nation, the tour will conclude at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Virginia Beach, Va., on Aug. 15.
“I’m real excited to have this opportunity to hit the road next year with the ‘Southern Voice’ tour and look forward to playing new songs and old favorites for all my fans,” says McGraw in a news release.

Lady Antebellum will be a special guest on the entire tour. The trio took country music by storm with the release of their now-platinum-certified debut on Capitol Records Nashville in 2008, which spawned the hit singles “Love Don’t Live Here” and “Lookin’ For A Good Time” as well as the gold-certified No. 1 smash “I Run To You.” With best new artists trophies from both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music in 2008, two Grammy nominations for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards and countless other award nominations, it comes as no surprise they were the only country act recognized as one of iTunes’ Best New Artists of 2008.
The band’s sophomore album, “I Need You Now,” this week debuted at the top of both the Billboard 200 and Billboard Top Country Albums charts. The album’s title track, which the trio performed at Sunday’s 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, recently spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart and is climbing the Billboard 100 pop chart.
BNA Records’ The Lost Trailers were named “Most Played New Group” in 2008 by Mediabase. Their album’s title track, “Holler Back,” stayed in the Top 10 for more than a month last summer and their latest single, “Country Folks Living Loud,” is climbing the charts.
Outback Steakhouse will present the “Southern Voice” tour and the Fritos brand from Frito-Lay is associate tour sponsor. The two sponsors will join forces with McGraw to raise funds for The Neighbor’s Keeper Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, a charitable fund created by Tim and his wife, Faith Hill.
With “Southern Voice,” McGraw once again pushes the bounds of his artistry with characteristic honesty, grit and soul, qualities that have throughout history exemplified the Southern voice. Recorded in Nashville with his longtime producer, Byron Gallimore (Faith Hill, Sugarland), “Southern Voice” is McGraw’s first studio album in two and a half years, following “Let It Go,” which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 in April of 2007. McGraw gave the title track, its national television debut on “NFL Opening Kickoff 2009 Presented by EA Sports,” which was simulcast on NBC and NFL Network.
McGraw has sold more than 40 million units and dominated the charts with 30 No. 1 singles. He’s won three Grammys, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards, 10 American Music Awards, three People’s Choice Awards and numerous other accolades. McGraw is featured on the cover of the November issue of Men’s Journal.

Sandra Bullock stars as Leigh Anne Tuohy and Tim McGraw as Sean Tuohy in “The Blind Side.” The film received this week an Oscar nomination for best picture, while Bullock was nominated for best actress.
His multi-faceted career also encompasses film. McGraw launched an impressive acting career with 2004’s “Friday Night Lights,” which he followed with “Flicka” (2006), “The Kingdom” (2007) and “Four Christmases” (2008). He co-stared with Sandra Bullock in the film “The Blind Side,” which this week received an Academy Award nomination for best picture.

So is Lady Antebellum going to even be performing very much that evening? Because all it says on my ticket is Tim McGraw.
