Oklahoman Nick Waters picks his 30 chick flicks to watch in 30 days, starting today

Pauls Valley resident Nick Waters (pictured) embarks on his mission to watch 30 chick flicks in 30 days tonight, and he will start by viewing the acclaimed 2007 film “Waitress.”
“I am ready for the challenge,” Waters assured me this week via Twitter.
If you’ll recall, I wrote earlier this month about Waters, 28, and his project titled “30 Chick Flicks in 30 Days: One Guy’s Exploration of Romance Through Movies Loved by Women.” He plans to watch a chick flick a day for a month; as he goes, he will write and post videos about the films and his experiences at www.30chickflicks.com. He is undertaking this project in an effort to learn more about women. His wife of seven years, Nicci, will watch many of the movies with him.
Only films released between 2007 to present and ones he hasn’t seen before will be viewed for the project, which will wrap Feb. 13, the day before Valentine’s Day.
In a video post on his site, Waters said more than 45 eligible movies were suggested in the past month and the most frequently recommended title was “27 Dresses.”
He is inviting others to take the “30 Chick Flicks Challenge” along with him. The full list of films – which is surprisingly diverse considering his narrow parameters, but still runs too much to rom-coms for my taste – along with his video post, are included after the break.
