Oklahoma country music star Toby Keith dismissed criticism Friday as he performed at the annual Nobel Peace Prize concert at downtown Oslo Spektrum arena in Oslo, Norway.

Hours before Friday’s concert, Keith said he sees no reason to apologize for supporting U.S. war efforts, the Associated Press reported. Some Norwegians were upset that a singer known for a pro-war anthem was performing at the Nobel Peace Prize show.

Keith broke out as a true music superstar with his strongly worded 2002 hit “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American),” which was inspired by the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He is known for his efforts to support U.S. troops and has performed on many United Service Organization tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and other locales.

Keith said Friday he stands by President Barack Obama’s decision to send 30,000 troops to Afghanistan, the AP reported.

“If President Obama has to send (more) troops into Afghanistan to fight evil, I’ll pull for our guys to win, and I won’t apologize for it,” Keith said. “I’m an American, and I do pull for our team to fight evil.”

Keith’s comments echoed those of the president, who Thursday after accepting the peace prize defended his decision to boost troop levels in Afghanistan. “Make no mistake: Evil does exist in the world,” Obama said.

Keith told the AP that this was the second year in a row the Norwegian Nobel Committee had invited him to perform at the Nobel Peace Prize concert.

Way to go Toby. Toby’s performance Friday at the Nobel Peace Prize concert showed the world what a fantastic entertainer he is. Toby, is indeed, a man of his convictions, and he stands by what he says and he stands by the troops and the commander-in-chief.

Way to go Toby, showing what a racist you are with your slanty-eyed little stunt. Why didn’t you push your nose flat when he sang ” black”?
What a piece of balding trailer trash garbage of an excuse you are. Only in country music could such crap pass for talent.
