Dan Aykroyd and Anna Faris are in negotiations to star in “Yogi Bear,” a live-action/computer-generated film based on the old Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Justin Timberlake also is in talks to join the Warner Bros. project, which will be directed by Eric Brevig (2008’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth”)
Faris will play a nature documentarian who follows the antics of a picnic basket-snatching bear in fictional Jellystone Park. According to the trade publication, Aykroyd will voice Yogi, and Timberlake could become the voice of Yogi’s constant companion, Boo Boo.
They’re not the only ones helping bring a venerable cartoon character to the big screen.

The Hollywood Reporter also says that Owen Wilson has signed on to voice the ornery Great Dane Marmaduke for Fox and New Regency’s adaptation of the comic strip, which was created in 1954.
The live-action/CG film follows a family named the Winslows who move from Kansas to Orange County with their dog Marmaduke, who creates chaos wherever he goes.
Chickasha native Lee Pace, Judy Greer, and William H. Macy play the humans, while Fergie, Emma Stone, George Lopez, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Steve Coogan, Damon Wayans, Marlon Wayans supply the voices of the other dogs in the film, which involves a sort of mutts vs. pedigrees turf war.
The family comedy, directed by Tom Dey (“Shanghai Noon”), is set for June 2010 release date.
