Video: Wanda Jackson Way dedicated in Oklahoma City
Talented NewsOK videographer Tim Money helped cover Wednesday’s dedication of Wanda Jackson Way in Bricktown. The alley, which connects Oklahoma Avenue and Mickey Mantle Drive, was named in honor of the pioneering singer, who was born in Maud and raised and still lives in Oklahoma City.
Jackson showed she still has that great, growling voice at Wednesday’s dedication, performing three of her hits to close the ceremony. For me, finally getting to see the Oklahoma musical treasure sing live was a joy.
