What to do in Oklahoma on Sept. 29, 2009

Today’s featured event:
See an exhibit of West African artist El Anatsui’s most recent artwork at Artspace at Untitled, 1 NE 3.
Anatsui creates large-scale wall reliefs resembling traditional African kente cloths. The works, which often measure 12- to 15-feet wide, are made of thousands of pieces of stitched together aluminum cut out of screw tops found on liquor bottles from distilleries in the artist’s hometown of Nsukka, Nigeria.
The exhibit is on exhibit at Untitled through Nov. 7. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
