Flaming Lips appearing tonight on “The Colbert Report”

Oklahoma City-based alternative rockers The Flaming Lips will be guests tonight on “The Colbert Report.” The comedic political program airs at 10:30 tonight on Comedy Central.
The band will perform and be interviewed by host Stephen Colbert on the show. The Lips are promoting their upcoming double album “Embryonic,” due out Oct. 13.
According to the Comedy Central Insider Blog, The Lips will be the first performers to debut their new album on www.ColbertNation.com. “Embryonic” will be made available online for a limited-time only immediately after tonight’s show through Monday.
Also, this is the first time The Flaming Lips have pre-released an album digitally in its entirety, according to the blog.
