Oklahoma Lt. Gov. Jari Askins and Norman artist Mike Wimmer will read to children at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Science Museum Oklahoma, 2100 NE 52, as part of the museum’s new Science Stories program.
Askins and Wimmer will share with youngsters some of their favorite children’s book. According to a news release, Wimmer is set to read “One Giant Leap,” a new children’s book about the 1969 moon landing that he illustrated. (Robert Burleigh wrote “One Giant Leap.”)
With the ever-present need for more Oklahoma engineers and scientists, Science Museum Oklahoma is continuing its science literacy campaign in hopes of enriching lives by revealing the wonder and relevance of science. The museum’s campaign is reinforced by its exhibits, films, shows and programs. Science Stories is a new program the museum will debut Tuesday.
