Rascal Flatts became the first country act to perform a concert in historic Wrigley Field in Chicago last Saturday night.
The group, which includes Joe Don Rooney of Picher, entertained before a sold-out crowd of 37,000 fans for one of only four concerts ever played in the Chicago Cubs home stadium, according to a news release. Oklahoma native Vince Gill and Darius Rucker opened the show.
The four-hour show was packed with Rascal Flatts’ biggest hits, including ”My Wish,” “What Hurts The Most,” “Here Comes Goodbye,” “Bob The Head” and new smash single “Summer Nights.”
Gill came out onstage midway through Rascal Flatts’ set to perform “Whenever You Come Around” with Rooney and bandmates Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus.
Rucker also performed with Rascal Flatts during the band’s two finale songs, Hootie & the Blowfish’s “Hold My Hand” and the trio’s cover of “Life Is A Highway.”
