PRYOR – Hear Anthrax, Saxon, Overkill, Anvil and more during the first day of Rocklahoma 2009 at the Catch the Fever festival grounds near Pryor.

An outdoor screening of the documentary “Anvil! The Story of Anvil” also is on the itinerary for today.

Gates open at 11:30 a.m. today. The festival continues through Sunday and features bands such as RATT, Night Ranger, Jackyl, Nelson, Twisted Sister, Skid Row and Great White.

OKEMAH – Listen to Stoney LaRue, Steppin’ In It, Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion, Joel Rafael, K.C. Clifford and more during the first full day of the 12th annual Woody Guthrie Folk Festival, taking place at various venues around Okemah.

The music starts at 11 a.m. at the Brick Street Cafe, 104 S 2nd St.

Woody Fest continues through Sunday and also includes performances by Jimmy LaFave, John Gorka, Ellis Paul, Red Dirt Rangers, Sam Baker and more. The festival also includes songwriting workshops, a children’s festival, a documentary screening and more.
