Carrie Underwood honors teachers, including mom and sisters

Oklahoma country music star Carrie Underwood is taking part in a public service campaign that honors teacher – and paying tribute to her mom and sisters in the process.
Checotah’s favorite daughter is the first country artist to partcipate in the “Behind Every Famous Person Is a Fabulous Teacher” campaign, which pairs public figures with their favorite teachers, according to CMT.com.
Understandably, Underwood couldn’t choose just one favorite educator: She is featured with her sisters, Stephanie Shelton and Shanna Means, who are current teachers, and their mother, Carole Underwood, who taught for 25 years.
“Teaching was something that ran in my family,” the 2005 “American Idol” winner says in the campaign. “I have always admired my mother and sisters for making a difference in the lives of so many.”
