Toby Keith prefers fan-voted awards shows

Oklahoma country star Toby Keith prefers music industry awards shows that are fan-voted, he told me in a phone interview last week.
Keith is performing and is nominated at tonight’s CMT Music Awards, broadcasting live from the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tenn. The red carpet portion of the event is starting now at CMT.
“The CMT’s all fan-voted on, so you lose there, you just leave and go. Nobody can gripe about that. That’s the way they all should be,” he told me last week.
The Norman resident said he prefers the fan-voted CMT Music Awards since they eliminate the “agenda voting” of some of the shows inside the country music industry. He doesn’t participate in the Country Music Awards.
He did perform and was nominated at April’s Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.
“You leave it up to the fans, you’re gonna get it where it’s gonna be fair every time,” Keith said.

Toby was amazing as he always is. You know its a funny thing I too always preffered the fan voted awards however I feel they are fixed, I am sorry but I really do believe that, I voted for Toby and I know for a fact I am not the only one in my opo he sure should’ve been up for the Video of the Year, I don’t know what they are trying to pull.
Anyhow in our opo we feel, Toby is the man, we love him, he puts on a show like you have never seen, gives his all and then some, and he sure doesn’t get near the recognition he deserves cause he don’t play the dumb politics game the others do, anyhow I don’t want to sound all mean and tacky, Toby you were superb as always and we sure do love you! Hope to see you again this year, your the best ever!!
