Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton and more laud dads in Country Weekly Father’s Day issue

Several country stars, including Oklahomans Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, talk about the lessons they learned from their fathers in the June 22 issue of Country Weekly magazine, on sale today.
Most country stars will tell you that their dads made the biggest impression on their lives, whether it was by their words or their examples, the magazine reports. In honor of Father’s Day, which is Sunday, Country Weekly asked stars like Dierks Bentley, Taylor Swift and Trace Adkins to share teachings gained from their dads.
Reba McEntire, who was raised on a Chockie ranch, tells the magazine, ”My dad taught us that when you commit to something, finish what you start.”
Swift shares that by watching her socially outgoing father, “I learned to love people.”
Also, Jason Michael Carroll talks about being a great dad to his four children. As part of the special Father’s Day section, Jason discusses his family and the one-on-one time he spends with his kids.
“I’ve just started realizing how important it is – it doesn’t even matter what you do with them,” he tells the magazine. “They just want to watch a movie with Dad. Or they like it when I cook. It’s really fun to be able to do something like that and feel the appreciation.”
