A first look at “Captain America Reborn,” from Marvel Comics, released by the Associated Press.

Marvel confirmed today that the original Captain America will return later this year in a five-part miniseries titled “Captain America Reborn.”

According to our resident nerd, Matt Price of Nerdage, the return of Steve Rogers, who was killed in 2007, is alluded to in “Captain America #600,” released today. In the issue, Captain America’s former girlfriend Sharon Carter says there’s a chance to save the original Captain America.

It’s rare for a comic hero, especially one that’s been around as long as Cap (who dates back to 1941), to stay dead. With Marvel planning to release the film “First Avenger: Captain America” in 2011, it seemed a surefire bet that Steve Rogers would make his return sooner rather than later.

Matt has multiple posts about the return of Captain America over at http://blog.newsok.com/nerdage. Why not get up to speed on the issue by clicking here to read what Oklahoma comics retailers think about the coming rebirth of Captain America?
