Let’s kick off Rascal Flatts Week here at BAM’s Blog by opening up the file on the contemporary country trio and checking out some of the band’s accomplishments.
Remember, the fact-sharing and festivities here on the blog lead up to the band’s performance Friday night at Buffalo Run Casino in Miami. The venue is just three miles from Picher, where Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney grew up. For more information, go to www.buffaloruncasino.com.
- Rascal Flatts signed with Lyric Street Records in 1999. The band was formed when singer Gary LeVox and bassist/pianist Jay DeMarcus, who are cousins, joined forces with Rooney in Nashville, Tenn. The trio is known, among other things, for their tight vocal harmonies.

- The group in April received the ACM top vocal group award for the seventh straight year. Rascal Flatts also is the reigning CMA, CMT and People’s Choice vocal group winner.
