The Black Crowes will play the Oklahoma State Fair on Sept. 24 as part of the first leg of the band’s “Stuck Inside Utopia” Tour. The band is best known for the hits “Hard to Handle,” “Jealous Again” and “She Talks to Angels.” Dates for the first part of the tour, which kicks off Aug. 25 in Vienna, Va., were announced today.

Truth & Salvage Co. will open many dates on the tour, including the concert at Oklahoma City’s State Fair Park.

The shows will feature more than two hours of music from the band’s upcoming album as well as its deep catalog, dating back to the 1990 multi-platinum debut record “Shake Your Money Maker.” The Crowes have sold more than 20 albums worldwide and developed a reputation for live shows that mix new material, popular favorites and covers.

The rockers released their first album in seven years, “Warpaint,” in 2008. A live version of the record came out this spring, and a live performance DVD hits stores June 30. The band reportedly is working on a new double album.

“The Black Crowes fearlessly continue to search for the self-made utopian ideals that makes rock and roll music the last true real American adventure,” lead singer Chris Robinson said in a news release.

The band also will be among the headliners at the DFest Music Conference and Festival July 24-25 in Tulsa.

Tickets to the state fair show will go on sale July 11. For more information, go to www.blackcrowes.com.
