Marvel casts big-screen Thor, Loki

Chris Hemsworth, who can be seen as James Kirk’s dad George in the new “Star Trek” movie, is reportedly in final talks to star in Marvel Studio’s film version of their comic “Thor.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter,Hemsworth also is in negotiations to play the lead in the remake of “Red Dawn,” taking over the role originated by Patrick Swayze in the 1984 original. In the new film, China and Russia will invade the United States.
Aside from his brief role in “Star Trek,” the Aussie actor is best known for his role on his homeland’s TV show “Home and Away.” The trade publication is reporting that other hopefuls for the “Thor” role included Hemsworth’s brother, Liam, who will next be seen opposite Miley Cyrus in “The Last Song.”
The “Thor” comics are based on Norse mythology, with Thor as the thunder god who wields Mjolnir’s hammer. When Marvel Comics relaunched the series in 2007, writer J. Michael Straczynski set it in Oklahoma. It will be interesting to see at what point in the long-running comic’s history that Marvel Studios will set the film.
But we do know that Thor will face his pesky nemesis Loki in the film. According to Variety,British actor Tom Hiddleston, another relative unknown, has been cast to play Loki.
Hiddleston and “Thor” director Kenneth Branagh (“Hamlet”) have worked together in the past: They co-starred in the BBC miniseries “Wallander” and were in a London stage production of “Ivanov,” according to Variety.
“Thor” is set for May 20, 2011, release. Provided Hemsworth is confirmed as Thor, he would also presumably appear in Marvel’s 2012 film “The Avengers,” about the superhero team that also includes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk and Captain America.

I would really like a shot in the marvel world as a super hero or villain in a movie or t.v. show I believe I have what it takes, I have drawn and read about almost all of the marvel characters although I don’t look the type I am very much so. Please someone e-mail me or contact me I am from Michigan and now live in LA. I am not looking for a hand out just guidance and direction.
