Collective Soul, Gavin DeGraw planning summer tour stop in Tulsa

Collective Soul
Multi-platinum-selling rockers Collective Soul (one of my all-time favorite bands) and platinum-selling singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw will hit the road this summer on a co-headlining tour throughout the U.S., including a stop in Tulsa.
The tour will come to Tulsa’s SpiritBank Event Center at 7 p.m. July 9. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Tickets go on sale Friday at www.SpiritBankEventCenter.com, www.CollectiveSoul.com and www.GavinDegraw.com. Fan club pre-sales for both artists start Thursday.
The multi-city run kicks off June 22 at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio. Green River Ordinance will join this tour as the opening act.
This tour marks the first time both bands have toured together, but they have long been mutual fans.
Collective Soul frontman Ed Roland said in a news release, “We are excited to get back out on the road this summer, and are delighted it’s with Gavin. The band have always been big fans, and we look forward to some great shows.”
Gavin DeGraw said in the release, “Collective Soul is a great group of guys with a great sound. I partied with them in the fabulous city of Atlanta. It’s going to be an exciting tour and I am looking forward to it.”

About Collective Soul:
Globally known for mega-hits such as “Shine,” “December” and “The World I Know,” Collective Soul hails from Atlanta, GA and has produced 7 No. 1 singles and sold more than 10 million records. The band broke into mainstream popularity with their 1993 debut album “Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid.” The group’s self-titled second album arrived the following year and logged a 76-week run on the Billboard Top 200. 1999′s critically acclaimed “Dosage” saw Collective Soul further its run as rock radio superstars. The first single “Heavy” set a new high mark for 15-weeks at No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock chart. “Tremble For My Beloved” from the album also appears on the gold-certified soundtrack for the hit 2008 film “Twilight.”
Their debut album for Loud and Proud/Roadrunner Records is scheduled for release August 25.
About Gavin DeGraw:
Gavin DeGraw returned to the charts this year with “Free,” a stripped-down nine-track collection of songs. Immediately following the release McGraw hit the road for his sold-out “Where It Began” tour taking audiences on a musical journey back to his roots for a series of intimate full band and solo performances. Billboard said of his recent tour “The singer (Gavin DeGraw) proved to be a triple-threat, switching back and forth between lead guitar and piano while crooning soulfully to the crowd.” His album “Free” is the follow-up to DeGraw’s self-titled 2008 album “Gavin DeGraw,” which debuted at No. 1 on the digital sales chart and No. 7 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart last May, earning DeGraw his first Top 10 album. “Gavin DeGraw” spawned the hit singles “In Love With A Girl,” which Billboard dubbed “a rocking homerun” and the gold-certified “We Belong Together.”
