The song that has been on my brain the most this week:
- “We Run” by Sugarland, from their 2008 album “Love on the Inside.”
This bouncy, uptempo ballad captures the reckless excitement of young love. It’s one of the standout tracks from the duo’s excellent third album.
It’s funny, I had already selected this song as this week’s FFT before the BOK Center announced today that Sugarland will be coming to Tulsa Aug. 7 with Keith Urban. I saw Sugarland last fall at Oklahoma State University’s Orange Peel, and they put on a terrific, high-energy show.
The duo was forced to cancel three shows this week after singer Jennifer Nettles was placed on a 10-day vocal rest to combat a viral tonsil condition, according to CMT.com. Hopefully, her powerful pipes will be in perfect health when they get to Tulsa.
