“Lord of the Rings” author J.R.R. Tolkien has a new book, “The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun,” in stores today, almost 36 years after his death.

According to the publisher, Houghton Mifflin, it is a previously unpublished work by Tolkien, written during the 1920s and ’30s. It makes available for the first time Tolkien’s “extensive retelling in English narrative verse of the epic Norse tales of Sigurd the Völsung and The Fall of the Niflungs.” His son, Christopher Tolkien, edited the book.

In CDs, influential rockers New York Dolls, who will play June 2 at Oklahoma City’s Diamond Ballroom, are drop their new album, “‘Cause I Sez So,” today.

Also, Oklahoma City rockers Theatre Breaks Loose are releasing their debut album “The Way This Works” today on iTunes and www.Smartpunk.com, according to the Oklahoma Rock Newsblog.

In DVDs, David Fincher’s epic “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” which received many nominations during awards season, is out today.
