Photo gallery: King Tut exhibit in Dallas

“Sculpted Head of a Princess from Amarna” is one of the artifacts in the exhibit “Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs” is at the Dallas Museum of Art. This head depicts one of Akhenaten’s six daughters, perhaps Meritaten, the eldest. The unusual elongation of the skull, which appears in other Amarna figures, may have reflected religious ideology. Possibly a familial trait, this feature also occurs in the mummy of Tutankhamun, who may have been her half-brother. (Dynasty 18, reign of Akhenaten 1353-1336 BCE. Photo by McMillan Group)
The exhibit “Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs” is at the Dallas Museum of Art through May 17. To see a NewsOK photo gallery of some of the artifacts in the exhibit, click here.

[...] disappointing, I have discovered some interesting facts. My favorite object in the exhibit was a sculpted head of a princess. Why? She looks like an alien (see pic, not the orange [...]
Doing some browsing and noticed your website appears a bit messed up in my K-meleon internet browser. But fortunately hardly anyone uses it any longer but you may want to look into it. – I like children. Properly cooked. – W.C.Filelds 1880-1956
This elongated head of King Tut and his daughters is NOT a “reflection of religious ideology” as they would have you to believe. This is actually how Tut looked.
What they won’t tell you is that are numerous pictures of black Africans from the area TODAY who have these exact same elongated heads and that they do it ON PURPOSE!In some tribes they ALL have this same elongated head. They wrap a succession of bands around the head from a very early age to produce this deformity. It is a black African cultural thing which goes back to the Egyptians and before.
The Eurocentrists who want to steal Egyptian culture and claim it don’t want you to know this because there is living evidence today that this is and always has been a black African cultural practice.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a copy of this sculpture. I had one in black basalt, but it was stolen and it was my favorite piece of artwork. Can’t afford a lot, but will do anything I can to acquire a copy of this piece.

Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs is a great exhibition – i saw it in London previously and it was one of the best exhibitions that i’ve been to yet. Very professional. Egyptian history continues to entertain like no other period.
