Rascal Flatts notches 10th No. 1 hit

Country trio Rascal Flatts, which includes Joe Don Rooney of Picher, awoke today to learn that their latest single, “Here Comes Goodbye” jumped from No. 6 to No. 1 to become the most played country record in America on the Billboard/R&R and Mediabase/Country Aircheck charts, according to a news release.

“Here Comes Goodbye” is the 10th chart-topping single for Rooney and his bandmates, Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus.

“With everything this past week has brought we are blown away to have our 10th No. 1 single with ‘Here Comes Goodbye’,” said Jay DeMarcus in the release, ”and are so thankful to country radio and the fans for all their support.”

The big news followed a big week for the band, which included a record-breaking seventh consecutive Vocal Group of the Year win at the Academy of Country Music Awards, the release of their sixth studio album, “Unstoppable,” media appearances in the Eastern and Pacific time zones and more than 27 hours of interviews with country radio,

Rascal Flatts is also poised to score another No. 1 this week as their new CD “Unstoppable” is in position to debut at No. 1 on both the Country and Top 200 sales charts.

Racal Flatts will appear on “Dancing With The Stars” on Tuesday and ”The Late Show with David Letterman” and Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” on Thursday.

“Unstoppable,” co-produced by Dann Huff and Rascal Flatts, is the band’s first studio album since 2007′s multi-platinum “Still Feels Good.”
